Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

PTSD is a type of anxiety disorder. It commonly occurs after experiencing a highly traumatic event. Those working in constant high pressure occupations, such as First Responders, are more susceptible to PTSD.  These tough occupations often cause isolation from loved ones due to stress, fatigue, and feeling as though you must keep parts of you hidden.  PTSD is an emotional injury sustained from seeing things most people don't usually see.

  Most likely to experience PTSD:

- Peace Officers
- EMTs / Paramedics
- Emergency Room personnel
- Firefighters
- Post-War Veterans
- Abuse survivors
- Victims of severe trauma

   (ie. life-changing event)

PTSD Symptoms
- difficulty sleeping
